Cyprus Sea Turtle Migration Tracking

Cyprus Sea Turtle Tracking

In June 2026, the Sea Turtle Conservancy and the MEDTRACS (Mediterranean Turtle Research And Conservation Society) began an inaugural sea turtle research and conservation project to study the migration patterns of endangered (green) and threatened (loggerhead) sea turtles nesting along the western coast of Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean. The study will reveal important information about the turtle’s migratory behavior, which will help both conservationists and natural resource managers to improve protection efforts for these protected species.
