An Eco-Volunteer Adventure is a unique and educational way to take part in sustainable travel that helps conservation. With hands-on opportunities Eco-Volunteer Adventures are designed to get you up close and personal with leatherback sea turtles in the Bocas del Toro Region of Panama.
Eco-Volunteers must be 16 years or older. This experience is ideal for educators, couples, spring breakers, groups, or anyone who is interested in helping sea turtles and making a difference. Discounts are available for groups of six or more. If under 18, must be traveling with an adult.
There is only one type of accommodation available at Soropta Beach, very rustic. Housing is dorm-style living, includes bunk beds and community bathroom.
Eco-Volunteer Adventures run from late-March through July. 1 week session only. Click here for more information on session dates.
Prices start at $1,650 per person (single occupancy) or $1,397.00 per person (double occupancy), all inclusive. This price does not include international airfare. Click here for more details on pricing.
All Eco-Volunteers must be in good physical health. Nightly sea turtle patrols will be done on the soft black sand of Soropta beach. Eco-Volunteers will cover between 5-6 miles over a period of 4-5 hours each night. Conditions in this tropical location are hot and humid, and insect life is plentiful. It is important that all travelers are aware of the demanding physical conditions before signing up. Review Health Requirements for all Eco-Volunteers.
This is an exciting way to participate in sea turtle conservation while vacationing in an exotic, tropical location. What makes Eco-Volunteer Adventures even better is that your money will be supporting sea turtle conservation at one of the most important nesting beaches in the Western Hemisphere. Plus, a portion of your fee is tax deductible!
If you feel the desire to give back while on vacation in an exotic, foreign country, come participate in one of our Eco-Volunteer Adventures. We would love to have you as part of our team!
