Barrier Island Center: Volunteer Opportunities

BIC-volunteersAre you interested in educating the community and our visitors about the unique environment right here in our own backyard?

Then you should be a volunteer at the Barrier Island Ecosystems Center in Melbourne Beach! Volunteers assist the staff in many capacities, such as gift shop assistants, education programs (field trip leaders, tour guides, docents, story time programs, summer camp), trail guides, turtle walk scouts, gardening helpers, and many other areas.

REQUIREMENTS include: a smile, willingness to learn, love of nature, desire to give a little of your time each week to better the community, commitment to helping sea turtles and their environment! If that sounds like you, please contact us and find out more about volunteering – you’ll be glad you did!
