Krysta

Krysta is an adult female loggerhead sea turtle released on June 29, 2026 with a satellite transmitter after nesting on Coquina Beach, Anna Maria Island, FL. She measured 92.7 cm in curved carapace (shell) length and 83.0 cm in curved carapace width, and was first seen by researchers while nesting on Manasota Key, FL in 2007.

Krysta is taking part in the 2026 Tour de Turtles and and was named by her sponsor, Hurricane Hanks.

Krysta was named in honor of Krysta Palardy, a former Hurricane Hanks team member who tragically passed away last year. In honor of a mother’s love, this turtle will bring new life into this world.
